Dust/Windstorm and Rain-thunderstorm predicted in upper parts of the country from 11th to 13th June
According to Met office, a Western Disturbance is likely to approach upper parts of the country from and likely to persist till Moist currents from Arabian sea are also likely to penetrate upper and central parts from . Under the influence of this:
- Scattered dust/windstorm & rain-thunderstorm (with few heavyfalls/hailstorm) is expected in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Murree, Galliyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Narowal, Sahiwal, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Nankana Sahib, Chiniot, Faisalabad, Okara, Kasur, Khushab, Sargodha, Noorputhal, Bhakkar, Layyah Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, D.G. Khan, Multan, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Rajanpur, Rahimyar Khan and Kot Addu from 11th to 13th June with occasional gaps.
- Scattered rain-wind/thunderstorm (with few heavyfalls/hailstorm) is expected in Kashmir (Neelum valley, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber, Mirpur) and Gilgit-Baltistan (Diamir, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar) from 11th to 13th June with occasional gaps.
- Scattered dust/windstorm & rain-thunderstorm (with few heavyfalls/hailstorm) is expected in Dir, Chitral, Swat, Kohistan, Malakand, Bajaur, Shangla, Battagram, Buner, Kohat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Waziristan, Orakzai, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Hangu and Kurram from 11th to 13th June with occasional gaps.
- Dust/windstorm & rain-thunderstorm is expected in Northeastern parts (Zhob, Sherani, Ziarat, Qillah Saifullah, Barkhan and Dera Bugti) from 11th to 13th June.
- Dust/windstorm is expected in upper Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Jacobabad, Khairpur, Dadu, Ghotki, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Shaheed Benazirabad) from 11th to 13th June.
Possible Impacts and advises:
- Strong windstorm/ hailstorm & lightning may damage weak structures (solar panels, electric poles, bill boards etc.) during the forecast period.
- Heavy rains may cause Urban/Flash flooding in Rawalpindi/Islamabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad.
- Landslides may occur in vulnerable areas of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from 11th to 13th June.
- Farmers are advised to manage their crops according to the prevailing weather conditions.
- Tourists and travelers are advised to remain extra cautious and avoid unnecessary travelling during the forecast period.
Note: All concerned authorities are advised to remain “Vigilant” and take necessary measures to avoid any untoward Situation during the forecast period.
